Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • Seeraga Samba Rice – ½ cup
  • Moong Dal – ¼ cup
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Black Pepper – 1 tsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Cashews – 6–8
  • Salt – to taste

Instructions for Seeraga Samba Pongal:

Cooking Process:

  • Roast moong dal lightly, then pressure cook with rice until soft.
  • Heat ghee, add spices, cashews and ginger.
  • Mix into the cooked rice-dal mix and adjust salt.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with coconut chutney or sambar.

Pro Tips:

  • Add a dash of milk for extra creaminess.
