- Mapillai Samba Rice – 1 cup
- Grated Coconut – ¼ cup
- Green Chillies – 2
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Curry Leaves – 6
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Instructions for Mapillai Samba Kozhukattai:
Preparation:
- Soak and coarsely grind rice.
- Heat oil and prepare a tempering with mustard, chillies and curry leaves.
- Add coconut and rice paste. Cook till it forms a dough.
Cooking Process:
- Cool slightly and shape into small dumplings.
- Steam for 10–12 minutes.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve with coconut chutney or herbal thuvaiyal.
- Ideal as an evening tiffin snack.
